April Artis

My name is April Dawn Artis, I’m from Grayson, Ky. I have 6 beautiful children, and a wonderful fiance, we are currently planning a beach wedding for May 13th, 2025. I have 3 dogs, and 2 cats.

My favorite things are bowling, traveling, music, cooking, fishing, swimming, iced coffee, dr pepper, caramel reese cups, spending time with my family and making all the memories we can.

Life is an adventure, always make the best of it!

PAUL MCGAUGHEY

Paul started with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in July of 2023. He graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science. He hopes to continue his education and pursue a career in the medical field. Paul currently lives in West Portsmouth, OH, with his wife, Hannah, their dog (Shadow), & their pet snake (Percy). In his free time, he loves going to the gym and going on adventures with his wife any chance they get!

Leslee Colby

Leslee is originally from Washington Court House, Ohio, but recently moved back to Blue Creek, Ohio from Michigan. Leslee discovered her passion for Veterinary medicine when she took the position as head receptionist in a veterinarian hospital there.

Leslee is a mother of three adult children and two grandchildren.
She and Tom (the love of her life) have three dogs, Hazel, Willie, Annie. Leslee loves spending time with family, walking, painting, decorating and sitting on her front porch enjoying God’s beauty….Shawnee Forest.

SHELL GIERHART

Shell began working at WAH in July 2022. Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, hunting, horseback riding, & spending time with her husband, family & fur babies. After traveling for the past several years with her husband’s work, they currently reside in Oak Hill, OH, with their dogs (Toby, Percy Jay, & Marshall), cat (Snowball), & horses (Hitch, Dixie & Appy). She looks forward to her career here at WAH & is excited to meet your fur babies!

KELLY GRIZZLE

Kelly started with WAH in July of 2022 and has worked in Veterinary Medicine, her passion, for over 20 years. She has 3 dogs (Lois, Hank & Chip), 4 cats (Violet, D, Alexa & Mr. Moon) & a tortoise named Todd. Kelly also has a teenage son, Gabriel, the proud parent of a hamster named Cotton. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, coffee & KPop.

ANDREW KENNEDY

Andrew joined Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in May 2022. Originally from St. Albans, WV, he is a student at Marshall University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with two minors in Digital Forensics & Biology. A lifetime lover of dogs & animals of all species, Drew enjoys the opportunity to work with pets every day. He has 1 dog, a Husky (Dino Nuggie). In his free time, he enjoys gaming with friends, eating, taking naps & watching anime.

KRISTEN GRAY

Kristen started at Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in February 2022 and has worked in Veterinary Medicine for 3 years. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster, working to obtain her degree as a registered Veterinary Technician. In her free time, Kristen enjoys being outdoors with her family, hiking, horseback riding, camping, reading & the occasional Netflix binge. She is the mother of 3 children, 3 dogs (Goku, Gypsy & Chase) & 2 cats (Giggy & Romey).

CHEYENNE REAPER

Cheyenne is a graduate of Mountwest Veterinary Technician Program. She lives in Ohio with her husband Justin and their two kids. They have 2 dogs and 3 reptiles. Cheyenne enjoys spending time with her family and in the gym. 

CHRIS STEVENS

Chris has been in the veterinary field since 2017, he attended Morehead State University, obtaining his 4-year BS in Veterinary Technology, and has had the opportunity to work with several different species of animals and wildlife in his career so far!

Chris especially enjoys critical care and anesthesia and is interested in pursuing a VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialty) in anesthesia to ensure that patients receive the best possible surgical care. Chris is also a certified Fear Free Technician.

Outside of the working hours, Chris loves spending time in the great outdoors, kayaking and visiting different waterfalls and roller coasters around the country. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, BreAnne, catching up on their favorite TV shows together, and herding around their pack of pets! They share their home with six dogs (two Welsh corgis, one standard poodle, one pug, and two mixed breeds), and 3 cats.

KAYLA SAMMONS

Kayla is a 2019 Graduate from Morehead State University with her Bachelor’s in Veterinary medicine, and obtained her RVT license shortly after. Kayla resides in Kentucky with her husband Zayne and son, Noah. She has three dogs (Piper, Phineas, and Poe) and chinchilla (Phara). In her free time she loves to read, watching hockey, listening to podcasts, and spending time with family and friends!

GRACE GIBSON

Grace joined Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in October of 2021. She currently lives in Piketon, OH & has 3 children (Gavin, Axton & Ruby), 3 dogs (Zeke, Biscuit, & Boone), and 3 cats (Banjo, Briggs & Sarabi). In her free time, Grace enjoys spending time with her kids, reading, cooking, enjoying the outdoors, hanging out with friends, & binge-watching Netflix.

ANDY EVANS

Andy started with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in July of 2021. She is a lifelong resident of Kentucky & resides in Worthington with David, her soul mate of 25 years (married 22). She has one perfect grandson—Atlas Edward & three amazing children – Tristin David, Alexandrea Mae, and Charlie Nicole. Andy also has 2 fur babies—Skye, the Corso & Odin, the White Swiss Shepherd. Andy is a HUGE fan of UK Basketball and makes no apologies for her love of BIG BLUE NATION! She obviously bleeds blue, & even the smallest mention of Christian Laettner will get you banned from her home, heart, and life!

KATEY KEITH

Katey joined Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in February 2021. She has worked as a Veterinary Technician for 8 years. Katey currently lives in Wheelersburg with her 2 children Kolson & Kaizer, and has 3 dogs (Nova, Drama & Eggroll), 3 cats (Kelso, Hyde & Macaroni), & a bearded dragon (Wasabi). In her free time, she enjoys time with her kids, hanging out with friends & going to concerts, & being lazy & binge-watching Netflix.

TONYA BRADFORD

Tonya joined Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in April 2019 & has over 18 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine as both a receptionist & assistant. Having 8 cats, 1 dog, quail, chickens, turkeys, mini cows, pigs, ponies & horses, as well as a very large family, she’s always on her toes! Tonya currently resides in South Webster, OH with her fiancé Kevin, & in her free time, she enjoys riding her Harley & spending time with family.

KRISTIN RICHMOND

Kristin is a 2022 graduate of Mountwest CTC with a degree in AAS-Veterinary Technology. She has over 4 years of experience in veterinary medicine. When not at WAH, you can find her with her 4 daughters and husband. In addition to her human children, she has 4 cats (Stampy, Lulu, Steve, & Rosemary), 2 dogs ( Penny-Layne & Gypsy), and 1 bonus cat (Shadow). Kristin enjoys reading, hiking, and listening to true crime documentaries in her free time.

HOLLY CHABOT, LVT

Holly is a 2017 graduate of the Vet Tech Institute, and obtained her RVT license in 2019. She currently resides in Portsmouth, Ohio, with her husband, Todd, and her daughter Lacey. They have 4 dogs, Sassy, Banjo, Heda, and Lotus, and 2 cats, Nolan, and Soupy. She enjoys spending time with her family and working on her never ending list of home renovations.

MORGAN LAHRMER, LVT

Morgan is a 2019 graduate of the Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School, Columbus. Morgan & her 4 cats (Sammy, Keke, Nimbus & Mavis) currently reside in Oak Hill, OH. When not at work, Morgan loves playing video games, hunting, spending time outdoors, & hanging out with family. Additionally, Morgan is a very successful Chicken Breeder & operates her own side business called Morgan’s Fluff Butt Hut!

KIMBERLY BREECH

Kimberly has been with WAH since August 2017. She currently resides in Peebles, OH & is the mother of two adult sons & grandmother to 2 little boys. She has 2 German Shepherds (Perseus & Ivy) & a cat (Josie). In her free time, Kimberly enjoys kayaking, reading, sewing, crocheting, dancing & watching old movies.

JAMIE JOHNSON

Jamie joined the staff at Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in July of 2017. Jamie lives in Wheelersburg, OH, with her husband, Heith, and their four boys- Gavin, Bradyn, Paxton & Rowan; they all share their home with a crew of dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, mice, geckos, and fish. Jamie & her family are very involved in their church & in her free time, Jamie enjoys reading, singing, & doing projects with her Cricut.

BAILEY PRUITT

Bailey has been with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital since January 2017. She obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from the Bradford School in Columbus. She currently lives in Kentucky with her son Liam, 2 dogs (Kringle, the blonde Chihuahua & Tobias, the brunette Chihuahua), 2 cats (Lyra, the Siamese, & Stitch, the one-eyed dilute Calico), & one horse (Pilgrim the Tennessee Walker). In her free time, Bailey enjoys spending time with her son & just enjoying anything outside & crafting. She looks forward to helping your animals each & every day in whatever way she can!

KARLEY McKENZIE

Karl has been with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital since 2015, first as a technician and now as a Head Receptionist. She lives in South Shore, KY, with her husband, Andy, and their little boy, “Bingo”. She has 3 dogs (Cookie, Luke & Arthur) & 4 cats (KaMia, Finn, Forrest, & Jenny). Her favorite time of year is Fall, and in her free time, she enjoys Crocheting, binge-watching Netflix, & spending time with her son.

JUSTIN PULLINS

Justin is one of our Head Receptionists & has been with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital since September 2015. He lives in Sciotoville, OH & has 6 dogs (Beaver, Terra, Timber, Atlas, Zeus & Sven). Justin is currently a student at Marshall University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources & Recreation Management with a minor in Sociology. After graduation, he hopes to utilize his degree to obtain a position working with the National Park Service. In his free time, he enjoys hiking/backpacking, playing/watching sports, gardening & traveling. Additionally, when not at WAH, Justin owns & operates his photography business called Impact Images.

LEVI PULLINS

Levi has been with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital since October 2014. He lives in Sciotoville, OH & has 6 dogs (Timber, Atlas, Sven, Terra, Zeus & Beaver). He is currently enrolled at Penn Foster, working to obtain his degree as a registered Veterinary Technician. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, playing computer games, playing with his dogs, gardening, & traveling.

ASHLI LaPOINTE

Ashli has been with our staff since September 2014. Originally from New Hampshire, she now lives in Friendship, OH with her son, Mason, as well as their 3 dogs (Axel, Gizmo & Annabelle) & cat (Maui). Her hobbies include hiking, horseback riding, crocheting, traveling, shopping, & spending time with her dogs.

AMBER SHAW

Amber joined Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in 2012. She obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of North Florida (Go Ospreys!). She currently lives in Lucasville, OH, with her two pit bulls (Ethel & Vega). She has the distinct honor of being one of our clinic cat (Hagrid)’s favorite people!

REVA ALLEN, PRACTICE MANAGER

Reva, a Morehead State University graduate, has been working in the field of Veterinary Medicine for over 30 years.

Reva’s interests include weight training, wildflowers, Christian Apologetics, organization, Christmas and travel.

DEBBIE KILGALLIN, DVM

Dr. Kilgallin graduated from Auburn University in 1995 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Nashville, TN, Louisville, KY, Orange County, CA & Cincinnati, OH, before coming to Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in April 2023. She currently lives in Ashland, KY, with her 3 dogs (Tighe, Tango, & Zippo) & her 2 horses (Boo & Fame). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her horses, & Auburn Football!

MEGAN R. STEINHAUER, DVM

Dr. Steinhauer started with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital in October of 2020. She is a 2019 graduate of THE Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine & practiced in Waverly, OH, before joining our team shortly after at WAH. She has over 15 years of experience working in Veterinary Medicine, and she currently resides in Piketon, OH, with her dog (Emmy) & cat (Feyre). In her free time, Dr. Megan enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, baking, bird watching & reading.

Roberts Tim, DVM

Dr. Tim graduated from Morehead State University in 1995, and went on to Auburn University, where he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000. After practicing in Pikeville, KY for a year, Jacksonville, FL for 3 years, and spending the last 20 years practicing in Louisa, KY, he’s eager to meet all of our wonderful clients and their pets!

Dr. Tim currently lives in Catlettsburg, KY with his wife, his 3 children and 6 dogs. Dr. Tim is very passionate about the work he does, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board!

LESLIE R. MARTIN, DVM

Dr. Leslie R. Martin is a 2000 graduate of THE Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine & has been an Associate Veterinarian with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital since graduation. Dr. Martin has dedicated her life to saving animals over the past 20 years & understands the importance of the bond between people & their pets. When not working, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time outdoors. She resides in Coal Grove, OH, with her son, Jagger, & their dogs (Isa, Guini & April).

Aaron R. Myers, DVM

Dr. Myers graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and began his career with Wheelersburg Animal Hospital shortly after. In 1999, he relocated to Nashville, TN & practiced at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for 9 years. Returning to Southern Ohio in 2008, he has practiced at Wheelersburg Animal Hospital. He currently lives in Oak Hill, OH, with his wife (Libby), children (Sophia, Cashe & Demi), 6 dogs (Spanky, Miss Kay, Bella, Rosie, Chief & Marley), 2 cats (Theo & Gary), 3 goats (Jeffrey, George & Junior), 3 horses (Chief, Phoenix & Mega), as well as his chickens (the oldest named Crow) & cows.
